Bragg Creek, Alberta

What is your bike's name?:

Freedom Flyer

What is your level of experience with cycling?:

How many years have you done the peloton ride?:

1 Year, 2011

Why are you riding in the peloton?:

This is a fantastic cause.  My brother-in-law (still living) was diagnosed with brain cancer, 9 years ago.  He was fortunate enough to have Wellspring for support during his first year of treatments.  Too many people we know have been stricken with this terrible disease and support groups are needed as much as the actual treatments, sometimes more so.

What are your top 5 inspirational songs you listen to while riding?:

Stevie Ray Vaughn - Little Wings

Rolling Stones - Miss You

Rush - Closer to the Heart

Cult - Fire Woman

Billy Idol - Rebel Yell

Led Zepellin - All Zep!!

Dire Straits - Romeo and Juliet

Who are you riding for?:

Everyone who has had cancer in their life or knows someone.

What do you hope to get out of the experience this year?:

A feeling of accomplishment and raising more awareness of the prevention, treatment and support for those stricken by cancer.

What are you looking forward to most?:

Sensory Overload.  Camaraderie.  The joy of being on two wheels seeing a part of the world I have not visited before.

What is your biggest fear for this journey?:

Road Rash.

How have you been affected by cancer?:

Knowing those that have had cancer makes me appreciate even more how precious life is and how short life can really be.

If cancer walked into the room, what would you say to it?:

F*#k You Cancer!!!!!!!  I won't go down without a fight.

What makes you pedal harder—(when the riding gets tough, what do you think about)?:

Rule number 5.

Tell Your Friends!
